Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women Initiative. (10 Years -10 Billies)

Black Women! Sis! This is an overdue PSA to you regarding the Goldman Sacks One Million Black Women initiative. This enterprise, announced in mid-March 2021, seeks to promote and advance racial equity and economic opportunity by investing in Black Women in order to close the deeply rooted economic gaps and inequality that exists. The amplification of these gaps during the Covid19 pandemic highlighted the disparities facing Black women and Black families. Recognizing that Black women are the foundational support of Black families the imitative seeks to support Black women through varying stages in their lives from “early childhood to retirement.”  Goldman Sachs will invest ten billion dollars over a ten year period targeting one million Black Women.

Some areas of support include healthcare, housing, job creation & workforce advancement, digital connectivity, education and access to capital.  According to Gizelle George-Joseph, chief operating officer of global investment research at Goldman Sachs, the goal of this inactive is  to “lower barriers and create economic security by reducing barriers to college education, providing access to capital for Black women entrepreneurs, increasing financial educations and investing in black communities.”

Now there are varying opinions on just how Black women should utilize this financial support and these cookout conversations  are occurring betwixt us; however Black women will choose how to utilize these resources. Know that Black women have always chosen to and cared for their children to the best of their abilities with and unfortunately, in many cases, without the necessary presence and support of absent fathers.  In fact, part of the reason that Black women find themselves in this predicament is because they are in fact not just supporting children, they are supporting entire communities that have been historically oppressed in this country.   So an investment in Black women is the investment in Black children and an investment in the Black Community; but more importantly much needed support for Black women.

So ladies, please check this out if you have not done so already and see if you qualify for support in any of these areas because we are many times the backbone of our communities who are always extending ourselves outward, supporting networks of people in that community.  So let us step up and be on the receiving end of universal reciprocity for all the goodness that we have always poured into our communities no matter what circumstances befall us.

Good luck and Godspeed ladies and remember people to always, Adapt, Create, Repeat.

Thanks! JazDez
